“Freedom is
what you do
with what’s been done to you.”
Jean-Paul Sartre

We can’t always decide what happens to us, but we can decide how it affects us and what it means for our life going forward.

Right now, you may have a hard time imagining your life without the loss, anxiety, trauma, and fear you feel.

Many clients we work with feel stuck or easily triggered. Many have even worked with previous therapists and found little relief.

And, there’s hope.

We know you are whole, complete, and not at all broken. At the same time, we know you’ve been through challenges and “bad” experiences that can get stuck in our minds and hearts.

After a “bad” experience or trauma, we may create limiting, negative beliefs about ourselves that are a real barrier to living our best lives. Some of the most common limiting beliefs we see are:

I’m not enough.

I’m not safe.

It was my fault.

I’m alone.

I’m not lovable.

Maybe you resonate with one or more of these beliefs. And, spoiler alert- all humans have limiting thoughts like these from time to time, even those who are very successful and look put together on the outside. It’s just what our minds do.

Very successful people often are confronted with their limiting beliefs when they are up-leveling their life or trying something new. We can unconsciously get scared because life is just “too good” (sometimes referred to as the “Upper Limit”). Sometimes we may self-sabotage or just wait for the other shoe to drop.

Through EMDR Therapy, you can transform
“bad” experiences and negative beliefs
and embody what’s really true.

The goal of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is to recognize limiting beliefs, transform the beliefs that hold you back, and embody new beliefs that are more true.

EMDR will let you go deep into your own healing and experience. We’ll remove the sting of past experiences and negative beliefs. You’ll embody new beliefs about your life, your work, and yourself, such as:

I’m ok as I am.

That was hard, but I survived.

I’m safe now.

I did my best.

I love my life.

I expand into even more love, abundance, and joy!

We practice EMDR because it is one of the quickest, deepest, most effective, and lasting treatment we’ve found for limiting thoughts, doubt, and fear.

We love this work because we get to witness transformation and positive shifts in people who find growth, joy, and connection, even after extremely difficult events and feeling stuck.

Our natural state is a state of abundance, joy, and connection.

We help people get back in alignment with their true, natural state. Our work is to facilitate healing so your mind can return to its natural place of health and well-being, without being triggered by old experiences and beliefs that no longer serve you.

Together, let’s discover how we can help.

What is EMDR?

What is EMDR like?

EMDR therapy sessions are often 1-hour sessions where you’ll recall various memories and beliefs while doing bi-lateral stimulation (through eye movement, tapping, or by holding two pulsers that gently vibrate). We’ll plan out what’s most bothersome to you and what we’ll target.

We’ll facilitate the process, and you can’t do it wrong. We’re here to keep you safe and keep the process moving.

Your only job is to notice.

Notice any thoughts, images, emotions, and body sensations.

Feel any feelings all the way through.

We’ll check in with you periodically on what you’re noticing, and you can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable.

Together, we’ll work on getting to a place where you feel more comfortable, even when you’re thinking about previously disturbing memories (desensitization)

Then, we’ll choose a new, empowering belief that you want to embody (reprocessing). At the end of the process of EMDR (which takes multiple sessions), you may feel empowered, at peace, and have new understanding about your past and what it will mean for your future.

EMDR

EMDR is traditionally done by following a therapist’s hand or a light on a light bar from left to right, while you recall past memories.

We now know that the power of EMDR is not only through eye movements, but can be facilitated by any bi-lateral (two-sided/crossing the mid-line of the body) stimulation, such as tapping or holding gently vibrating pulsers.

Some clients follow a light on a light bar with their eyes (seen here) or hold two pulsers (seen here in aqua) while they recall various images, memories, beliefs, and sensations.

Our minds, bodies, and spirits naturally want to heal traumatic memories and beliefs into more adaptive memory.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves,

‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?’”
