Train to Become an EMDR Therapist
Do you have excellent clinical skills and are you ready to learn EMDR Therapy? We know that EMDR training can be a major investment of time, money, and energy. We love to support new clinicians in their training to make training more accessible and to add much-needed diversity to the EMDR community of clinicians.
For the right candidates, we sponsor training and consultation to make EMDR training more accessible. We will support you on your ongoing journey before, during, and after your training to become an EMDR Therapist.
Although there are many “EMDR trainings” out there, we only sponsor and recommend EMDR training through the premier training organization, The EMDR Institute- the original and only training created by Dr. Francine Shapiro, who discovered EMDR. While less expensive, faster, and easier trainings do exist, we value training highly skilled, Master clinicians through The EMDR Institute only.

Are you an EMDR-trained Therapist, ready to take your clinical skills to the next level? Through group and individual EMDR consultation, we are here to support your growth and EMDR journey.
Become an expert on the standard EMDR protocol, learn advanced applications, and integrate your other clinical modalities and strengths into your EMDR therapy.
Working towards certification, you will be supported and challenged, as you learn. Becoming certified will require you to challenge yourself and be open to feedback about challenging cases. Written transcripts or videos of one or more EMDR therapy sessions will be required, as we hold the original and highest standards of EMDR certification and value specific feedback for your consideration and growth.

Become an Approved Consultant
Are you a Certified EMDR Therapist, ready to help other EMDR Therapists grow and learn EMDR therapy? As a Consultant-In-Training, we will support your journey in providing both group and individual consultation to EMDR therapists.
Become an Approved Consultant to give back high quality knowledge and skilled application to newer-trained EMDR therapists.
Written transcripts of group and individual consultation will required to give specific feedback about your consultation.
Becoming an Approved Consultant is a distinguished credential in the EMDRIA community, and we look forward to your successful completion of your Consultation status and ability to help the EMDR therapists!
Job Posting- EMDR Therapist
The Chicago EMDR Center (ChicagoEMDR.com) is looking for qualified therapists to provide excellent EMDR Therapy to our clients. Candidates may or may not be already trained in EMDR Therapy. This unique opportunity will provide EMDR Training through the EMDR Institute to the right candidate. This is a full-time W2 position (seeing 20-25 clients per week). While we are based in Chicago, we practice in and serve clients throughout Illinois via Telehealth.
Requirements
- Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology
- Active Illinois license (LPC, LCPC, LSW, LCSW, PhD, or PsyD) or Pre-licensed
- Willingness to train in EMDR Therapy or previous training completed (EMDR Institute training preferred)
Responsibilities
- Train in EMDR Therapy (if not already trained)
- Deliver high quality EMDR Therapy to clients via telehealth
- Daytime and at least two weeknight evenings preferred
- Keep documentation and maintain client files
- Moderate billing responsibilities
- Acknowledge and respond to relevant client queries, needs, and expectations
- Mindful participation in EMDR Consultation groups, Individual Consultation, and/or Clinical Supervision
Skills
- Understanding of or interest in learning about EMDR theory and practice
- Excellent communication, clinical, and customer service skills
- Positive attitude
- User level computer skills (Email, basic EHR- training available)
