Where do therapists go for therapy?

It can be a challenge for us therapists to find our own therapy.

You don’t want to go to a colleague or someone in your professional circles (hello, awkward dual relationships!), but you don’t just want to find someone off Psychology Today who you know nothing about.

You may feel stuck, broken, down, or anxious, but where can you go where you have absolute privacy and trust that you can fully and safely be your authentic self as a client?

You want to relax into the role of a client and not be judged as a therapist who should know everything and has it all figured out.

You believe in the transformative power of therapy, which is why you became a therapist, but maybe you haven’t always prioritized your own work or know where to go.

Give yourself the gift you give to so many.

I love to work with therapists. We are a fun, insightful, loving bunch of helpers who, at times, need our own help, too.

Let my office be a safe space for you to do your own healing and deep work.

We’ll heal what’s bothering you or “bad experiences” from your past and create post-traumatic growth with EMDR.

You may know EMDR very well as a trauma therapy. While that is it’s origin, I use EMDR holistically to treat all negative beliefs that we may have from time to time, such as:

I’m not enough.

I’m not safe.

It was my fault.

I’m alone.

I’m not lovable.

Often these negative self-beliefs are driving the show more than we care to admit.

EMDR can effectively help with self-doubt, fear, limiting beliefs, depression, anxiety, and many other symptoms and challenges we see in our offices everyday.

EMDR will let you go deep into your own healing and experience. We’ll remove the sting of past experiences and negative beliefs. You’ll embody new beliefs about your life, your work, and yourself, such as:

I’m ok as I am.

That was hard, but I survived.

I’m safe now.

I did my best.

I love my life.

I expand into even more love, abundance, and joy!

Maybe you want to try or have a “taste” of EMDR.

I did. I remember wanting to try EMDR as a client before I decided to train in it. EMDR training is a significant investment of time, money, and energy, so I wanted to experience it firsthand to see what all the hype was about. I struggled with who I could see as a client without somehow tainting my future professional community with a dual relationship, before I even began.

I eventually did find an EMDR therapist and had a wonderful experience, transforming beliefs I didn’t even know I had. That powerful personal experience confirmed that I wanted to train in EMDR. So, I did and am now certified. I now use EMDR with almost all of my clients.

I love to give other therapists a safe space to fully relax into the role of client and experience deep healing with EMDR.

Maybe you’re looking to take your therapy deeper.

Perhaps you’ve already tried to CBT, IFS, DBT, or otherwise process your problem, but you keep feeling stuck or don’t yet have full resolution. EMDR may be just the thing to try something new and allow yourself a break through.

Give yourself the gift of therapy.
